Drift Focus — Last updated July 12, 2026

Drift Focus ("Drift", "we", "the app") is developed by Quantum Bytes. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data Drift collects, how it is used, and your choices.

1. Data That Stays on Your Device

Drift is designed to work on your device. The following data is stored locally:

Drift does not have a backend server. Your session records themselves — above all the text of your intentions, your name, and your session history — are never uploaded anywhere. The one qualification: if pseudonymous usage analytics is enabled (it can be turned off — see section 5), coarse per-session statistics such as length in minutes, category, and score are shared as described there; the records and their content never are.

2. HealthKit

If you choose to enable HealthKit integration in Settings, Drift reads the following data in read-only mode:

This data is used solely to personalize greetings and widget insights (e.g., "Great day for deep work" after a good night's sleep). Your raw HealthKit values (exact step counts, sleep durations, and so on) are never written to disk. To display insights in the home-screen widget, Drift caches only a single short, coarse headline string (such as "7.5h sleep — great for deep work") in an on-device app-group container shared with the widget; this stays on your device and is recomputed the next time you open Drift or complete a session. HealthKit data is never sent off-device or used for advertising. When you disable HealthKit, this cached insight is immediately cleared from the widget and no further health data is read.

3. Sign in with Apple

If you choose to sign in with Apple, Drift receives:

Your Apple user ID is stored securely in the device Keychain. Your email and name are stored on-device only. We do not maintain a user database or send your credentials to our own servers.

4. Subscriptions & RevenueCat

Drift uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat processes:

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, session data, health data, or any personal content. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details on their data handling.

5. Analytics & Tracking

Drift collects a small amount of pseudonymous usage analytics to understand which features are used — processed by PostHog (US cloud). What this includes and, more importantly, what it never includes:

Drift contains no advertising trackers, does not use your data for ads, and never "tracks" you across apps or websites (no IDFA, no fingerprinting). Our website uses the same approach: pseudonymous, cookieless (a random per-tab identifier kept in sessionStorage and discarded when the tab closes links a page view to a signup within a single visit — nothing persists across visits) page-view and waitlist-funnel counts — views, signup attempts, successes, and errors (also via PostHog) — that record only the page path — query strings (except standard utm_ campaign tags) and full referrer URLs are stripped before sending, and the email you enter in the waitlist form is never included in analytics events.

6. Notifications

If you enable notifications, Drift schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated entirely on-device using your session history — no data is sent to any push notification service. You can disable notifications at any time in Settings.

7. Website Waitlist (driftfocus.com)

If you join the waitlist on our website, we collect:

We use it solely to send launch updates and a short weekly focus note. The signup is processed and stored by our email service provider (currently Resend; signups made before July 2026 may also be held by our previous provider, Loops.so, until records are migrated); we do not run our own servers. We never sell your email and share it only with that service provider, which needs it to operate the waitlist. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, which stops all mail from us. To have your waitlist record deleted entirely, email us at [email protected] and we will remove it from the provider.

8. Children's Privacy

Drift is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Data Deletion

All app content is stored on your device, so deleting the app removes it — we don't hold your session records or intentions. Two qualifications: the website waitlist email address (see section 7) can be deleted on request by emailing us; and pseudonymous analytics events already delivered to PostHog (see section 5) are retained there under our account — they carry no name, email, or account identifier and are not associated by us with your identity, and rotating the identifier (toggling analytics off) unlinks all future events from past ones.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
